Presenter Rick Dahlgren will explore the trends around utilizing the Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) with a Session Border Controller (SBC) to extend phones to remote workers. Utilizing SIP and a SBC can provide a secure and easy to manage alternative to Virtual Private Networks (VPNs) for extending full featured enterprise level telephony features to those people that have the need to work remotely either temporarily or permanently. A real-life case study will be discussed to highlight the challenges and ultimate success of this new exciting use of current technology.
